About the Film:"All Shall Be Well" is a poignant exploration of the challenges and familial disputes faced by a long-term lesbian couple in Hong Kong. This film not only delves into the complexities of LGBTQ+ rights and inheritance issues but also reflects on what constitutes 'family'. Drawing inspiration from real-life cases, Ray Yeung crafts a narrative that challenges societal norms and questions the definitions of kinship and belonging.
Following his successful portrayal of elderly gay men in Hong Kong through his 2019 film "Suk Suk," Ray Yeung continues to illuminate the lives of underrepresented communities, earning him the prestigious Teddy Award at the Berlin Film Festival. "All Shall Be Well" takes this further by examining the intricacies of life, loss, and legacy from the perspective of two aging women, bringing to light the often-overlooked narratives of elderly lesbians.
